Carlindo Pereira, MD
Dr. Carlindo Pereira graduated from medical school at the University of Stellenbosch in 1995 in South Africa, and practiced as a family physician in South Africa and Canada, where he developed a passion for ophthalmology. He came to the United States for ophthalmology
training, and graduated from ophthalmology residency at Loma Linda University, California in 2004. Following residency, Dr. Pereira stayed on faculty at Loma Linda University and joined the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial Veterans Administration Medical Center as full time staff, where he practiced comprehensive ophthalmology, and was later promoted to Chief of the Ophthalmology Department. He was closely involved in clinical and surgical training of the ophthalmology residents, and in 2008 received faculty teacher of the year award.
In 2009 Dr. Pereira moved to Indianapolis, IN for a year to complete a cornea and refractive fellowship with Dr. Francis Price. Dr. Pereira especially enjoys performing state-of-the-art cataract, refractive and corneal surgery (including newer partial thickness transplants DSAEK and DMEK). He is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and certified in the IntraLase and WaveLight lasers for refractive surgery.
