C. Dan Siapco, MD

Dr. Siapco joined North Cascade Eye Associates in 2003 and rapidly gained a reputation as the doctor to choose for cataract surgery. In 2008 he was named one of the Northwest's Best Surgeons by Northwest Business Monthly Magazine.Dr. Siapco is a board-certified ophthalmologist.  He obtained his medical degree from Loma Linda University in southern California.  His residency training was completed at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, after spending a year of internship at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, WA.

With thousands of cases performed, Dr. Siapco’s areas of expertise are small-incision cataract, laser and refractive surgery.  Dr. Siapco is certified to implant the Acrysof ReSTOR® and B&L Crystalens® intraocular lenses (lenses that are implanted at cataract surgery and allow the patient to be less dependent on glasses).  He offers refractive surgery, LASIK, in our Mount Vernon surgery center and is certified in the use of IntraLase® (the instrument that allows bladeless LASIK) and VISX CustomVue LASIK/PRK (for improved LASIK results). He also has a special interest in medical retina and performs sophisticated digital fluorescein angiograms (to aid in early diagnosis and treatment) in our Mount Vernon location.

Dr. Siapco is available for exams and consultations in our Sedro Woolley, Stanwood and Mount Vernon locations and provides surgical and laser treatments in our surgery center in Mount Vernon where he is the Medical Director.

 

 

 

 

In early 2007 Dr. Siapco spent 2 weeks in Barranquilla, Colombia as part of a team of eye surgeons and support staff with Medical Ministries International.   Their two weeks in Colombia were extremely busy with the team performing 551 surgical procedures, 269 of which were cataract surgeries.   A total of 6616 patients were seen in the clinic and 5471 pairs of glasses were dispensed to the poor and medically underserved population of this Colombian city. 

This year, Dr. Siapco took his own team consisting of family and staff members to Batangas, Philipeans where they ran a busy clinic of eye exams and fitting over 800 patients with donated eye glasses.  In the process they found 50 people in need of surgery.  Dr. Siapco will be returning soon to provide these patients with the surgery they so desperately need.

Dr Siapco has a passion for doing medical missions around the world and these trips are the first of many that he plans on participating in throughout his career.
