Dr. C. Dan Siapco

BioDan3Dr. C. Dan Siapco joined Cascadia Eye in 2003, and rapidly gained a reputation in Skagit Valley as the doctor to choose for cataract surgery, winning the award from Northwest Business Monthly for “Best Northwest Doctors in Skagit Valley” after only a few short years here. Dr. Siapco is a board-certified ophthalmologist. He graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine, interned at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, and did his ophthalmology residency at the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Siapco serves as the Medical Director of the Eye Associates Surgery Center and is instrumental in making sure Cascadia Eye always has the best technology available. Dr. Siapco has performed well over 7000 cataract surgeries. He has extensive experience with presbyopia-correcting intraocular lenses, including the Acrysof ReSTOR and Tecnis Multifocal.  He is also very excited to offer the new SymFony presbyopia-correcting intraocular lens to his patients undergoing cataract surgery.  Dr. Siapco is available for exams and consultations in our Sedro Woolley, Stanwood, and Mount Vernon locations and provides surgical and laser treatments in our surgery center in Mount Vernon.

“Ever since I can remember, I knew that I wanted to be a doctor. I wasn’t really sure what kind of doctor but I knew that doctors did work that directly helped people and that appealed to me. My parents were medical missionaries in Taiwan and I think that experience instilled a love for mission service in me and showed me that true fulfillment comes not from making a name for yourself or acquiring wealth but from serving your fellow man.

“As an ophthalmologist, the greatest joy I have is the ability to significantly change the life of a patient with a simple 10 minute procedure. There are very few opportunities in medicine where a physician can have such a dramatic, measurable, and lasting impact in a patient’s life. Cataracts are still the most common cause of reversible blindness in the world today and I love the opportunity to go and help eradicate this global problem. My love for missions has taken me to places in the world where I would otherwise never visit. The greatest fulfillment I have found in my life has been from serving on these mission trips and I plan to do them regularly as long as I am able.”

Dr. Dan Siapco, M.D.

Dr. Siapco is also very active in overseas missions to help eradicate preventable blindness in the developing world. In 2017, he was named “Citizen of the Year” by the Sedro-Woolley Lions Club, whose primary cause is vision and the prevention of blindness. Dr. Siapco has traveled to Central and South America, Asia, and Africa on various medical mission trips. He is passionate about Christian music and is a guitar player and songwriter for the band Aldersgate. He and his wife Wendy have been blessed with two sons, Christian and Asher.
