For 14 years, we’ve awarded the Excellence in Education Scholarship to a local high school senior. As we do every year, we got some wonderful applications from eager students all over Skagit and North Snohomish counties. We look for academic excellence, of course – at least a 3.25 GPA – but also a dedication to a future career in the medical world, whether that might be as a doctor, a nurse, a physical therapist, medical technician, or billing/coding specialist. (You can see what some of our past winners have done with their lives here!) We want to give the future of medicine a little boost by supporting exceptional students with $1000 toward their next big step.
This year the scholarship was awarded to Anacortes High School Senior Zachary Bowman, who plans to study physical therapy at Eastern Washington University. He is very passionate about helping people maintain and regain their health through physical therapy. Congratulations, Zachary! We’re pleased to reward you for your hard work and caring nature.
