Our annual 5k/10k fun run will take place on Sunday, August 28 at 9:00 AM, with the starting line in Anacortes for the first time – a beautiful waterfront trail* run! We will be meeting in our Anacortes office.
As last year, all proceeds will benefit EyeWitness Missions. This mission is formed by a core group of dedicated surgeons (including our own Dr. Pereira and Dr. Siapco), nurses, opticians and other volunteers to travel to foreign countries to provide free medical and surgical ophthalmic care to under-served populations. Read our blog post about Eyewitness Missions here.
Registering and/or Donating:
1. Pick up a registration form at any of our locations, download a printable PDF registration form here, or fill out the web form below. Pre-registering gets you a free shirt from the 2015 run! (You can also register on the day of the race – just come in 30-45 minutes early. Same-day registration fee is $35.)
2. Pay the $30 registration fee through our online store or make checks payable to Eye Witness Missions with “Fun Run” on the subject line.
3. If you want to have your run sponsored/collect pledges for your run, be sure to click the “Yes” button on the registration form below so we can add you to our donation page. We have pledge cards available at all 4 locations. You can also download a PDF here: Run Pledge Form 2016
(Note: sponsorship fundraising does not replace the $30 entrance fee, but the participant who collects the most money for Eyewitness Missions will receive a Grand Prize of 2 passes to a 3.5 hour whale-watching trip, departing from Orcas Island or Anacortes, and 1 pair of Oakley Sunglasses.)
4. Not running, but still want to fight blindness with us? To sponsor a runner, donate to the participant of your choice (participants will be added to this site after they register).
We also now have donation stations set up at each of our locations – donate ANY amount of money and receive a free shirt from last year’s run!
