What’s New With Cascadia Eye

Some changes are coming to North Cascade Eye Associates!

Since the foray to Vision Expo East earlier this year, our administrator Sheri, our opticians, and our doctors have been eager to implement some of the amazing things they discovered – from adding innovative new frames and lenses to our optical, to giving one of our locations a shiny new makeover. I want to highlight three new things in particular:

Costa Rx Sunwear comes to Northern Washington

For those in the know – particularly fishing and boating enthusiasts – Costa sunglasses are famous for their clarity on the water. They have unique polarization technology that makes your vision incredibly clear while still protecting your eyes from the glare of the sun. It makes perfect sense that in this beautiful area so near to the coast (not to mention all the rivers, lakes, and streams that are just a short jaunt into the Cascades) many of us would benefit greatly from these innovative lenses – especially since they can be made to prescription.

Surprisingly, up until now no optical north of Seattle has carried the Costa brand. A few fishing and sporting stores may carry some of the brand’s sunglasses, but none of them can make the lenses in your vision prescription. Which is why we are so excited to be introducing Costa to Skagit and North Snohomish at last!

New brands: creative styles for men and women

On top of Costa, we are bringing in some great new fashions to our frames for men and women. First, in our Mount Vernon optical we are adding Michael Kors: styles for men and women, and of course fashionable shades now that summer is upon us! We are also introducing an all-new brand: Axel S. German-based, the designs are hip, fresh, and artistic. Perfect statement-making fashions, yet very wearable. If you’re looking for something new, you definitely need to check these out.

Lastly, there is the environmentally-friendly, handcrafted beauty of Australia-based David Green eyewear, which I mentioned previously as one of our discoveries at Vision Expo East. Each frame is crafted with a real leaf that is dried, dyed, and sealed with a natural cotton-based acetate material. No two frames are exactly alike. This line will be showcased in our Sedro-Woolley optical.

Changes come to Sedro-Woolley

ncascade54Speaking of which, over the course of the Summer we will be giving our founding location a brand new look! The remodel will be happening in June and July and we promise you will love the results. Beloved in particular by Dr. Crowell and many of our long-term staff, the Sedro-Woolley clinic is due for an update (while still keeping the warm, approachable atmosphere that our patients love.) And since it already boasts the unique creations of our in-house optical lab, we plan on making it our home for the most fresh and artistic of our eyewear fashions. We are very excited to invite you to see the changes for yourself by next fall!

Note: The actual dates of the remodel are June 20-July 7. During that time, we won’t be seeing patients or taking optical orders in Sedro-Woolley, but all of our staff and doctors will still be available at the other locations, and we’ll also make special arrangements for you to pick up glasses that were previously ordered in Sedro-Woolley. We are sorry about the brief inconvenience, but assure you the results will definitely be worth it!
