Availability and affordability is what Cascadia Eye in Anacortes brings to our neighbors. For years patients had to either wait for months or travel out of the area to get quality eye exams, vision care, or surgery—but no longer! Cascadia Eye has same-day appointments available for primary eye care, and can usually see patients for ophthalmology (medical) care within a couple of days. We also offer improved options for eyewear: eyeglasses lenses crafted locally, and frames that we procure and design in-house—which means quality and affordability for you.

Meet Steven Turpin, OD, who is joining Cascadia Eye in mid-July. He comes to us with high qualifications and specialized training; we are excited to add him to our team!

He graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon with distinction, and received a number of different honors, including the Gas Permeable Lens Institute Award for Clinic Excellence in the field of gas permeable lenses. After graduation, Dr. Turpin completed his residency at Pacific University, specializing in Cornea and Contact Lenses, as well as having a background in managing cataract post-operative care and treating eye disease.

In addition, Dr. Turpin has a passion for research, earning a Master’s degree in Vision Science concurrently with his optometric degree. His areas of interest include myopia prevention and control in children, use of tinted lenses in migraine sufferers and patients with traumatic brain injury, and specialty contact lens design.

We are delighted to add his specialization and knowledge to the Cascadia Eye family–a perfect fit for our goal of providing for everything eyes. He will see patients in Mount Vernon, Stanwood, Anacortes, and Coupeville.
