Mount Vernon

The eye doctors of Cascadia Eye have served the vision needs of Skagit Valley since 1985. In our flagship Mount Vernon clinic, you’ll not only find state-of-the-art technology and award-winning ophthalmologists and optometrists — you’ll also discover our locally-focused mission, which includes: doctors and specialists (cornea, eyelid, and more) who live in the communities they serve; a dedicated eye surgery center, centrally-located in Mount Vernon; and an optical department that bypasses the big corporations to locally design and independently source our own beautiful, affordable frames. Our world is your vision.

Dr. James Santoro Now Available in Mount Vernon

June 25, 2018

Dr. James Santoro, Mount Vernon eye doctor
We are pleased to announce that Dr. James Santoro will be available for appointments in our Mount Vernon office. Dr. Santoro has over 33 years of experience working with pre- and post- operative patients, medical eye care such as glaucoma and diabetes and family eye care. He comes to us from the Everett Clinic but, as a Whatcom County resident, he was pleased to join our practice as he mainly serves in our Bellingham office. Adding Dr. Santoro to Mount Vernon affords more availability to our patients in our busiest location. Our aim is to be available where YOU need us!

Meet Dr. Jean Kassem

February 26, 2018

Please welcome Dr. Jean Kassem to our team!

Jean Kassem, MD, joins us as Dr. Heffernan, longtime ophthalmic plastics specialist, retires. Dr. Kassem, also an ophthalmic plastics specialist, will continue offering lid and related surgery here at Cascadia Eye. In addition, he will provide adult strabismus (muscle) surgery–which is new to us. We are so pleased to not only continue the excellence Dr. Heffernan started here, but to add to it with new services. Dr. Kassem is available in our Mount Vernon office on Wednesdays.
