Kristin Colonna, OD


Dr. Kristin Colonna received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts, after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Creighton University. She also completed an optometric residency at the Albuquerque VA Hospital, where she provided care to a large veteran population and participated in glaucoma research and clinical care.
Dr. Colonna started practicing optometry in 2010 and provides comprehensive eye care with a focus on diagnosis and management of ocular disease. Her experience includes glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, retinal conditions, dry eye, and other medical eye conditions as well as contact lens fittings, refractions, and surgical co-management. She has worked in both private practice and multi-disciplinary medical settings, including more than six years with Washington Permanente Medical Group, where she was the sole eye care professional in a multidisciplinary clinic alongside family medicine providers.
Dr. Colonna is a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry and has pursued advanced continuing education in ophthalmic procedures, laser, and surgery.
Family and Personal Passions
Dr. Colonna enjoys spending time with her husband, Mike, their dog, Jolly, and their two cats, Gandalf and Ista. She loves to travel, discover new restaurants, and cook. Dr. Colonna also gardens and recently started her own beekeeping apiary.
