Susan Cotter, OD
Dr. Susan Cotter received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Washington. Following graduation, she completed additional pathology training at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, further strengthening her expertise in the diagnosis and management of eye disease.
With nearly four decades of experience in optometric practice, Dr. Cotter is highly skilled in primary eye care, contact lens fitting, and the diagnosis and management of ocular diseases including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and dry eye disease. She also works closely with ophthalmologists to co-manage cataract and refractive surgery patients.
Throughout her career, Dr. Cotter has built a reputation for exceptional patient care and strong relationships with those she serves. As the founder and owner of a successful optometric practice in Mukilteo for more than 25 years, she was known for her commitment to clinical excellence, patient satisfaction, and creating a welcoming environment for patients and staff alike.
Family and Personal Passions
Outside of the office, Dr. Cotter has attended the Performance Driving School at Charlotte Motor Speedway twice and owns several high-performance Mustangs. She enjoys boating, is a PADI-certified diver and a licensed pilot, and even assists other pilots complete their medical certifications. Dr. Cotter has also volunteered providing eye exams in the Philippines.
