Cascadia Eye is happy to help sponsor the Skookum Kids Turns 3! event on Sunday, July 8, from 4pm to 7pm at 1710 N. State St. in Bellingham.
After three years of explosive growth, Skookum Kids hopes you’ll join them as they celebrate Skookum’s 3rd birthday on Sunday, July 7 from 4-7 pm. They’re shutting down the portion of Franklin Street behind Perch & Play to make room for food trunks, carnival games, local vendors, a bouncy house, and our favorite, live music—Western Washington’s own Kuinka
. Skookum Turns 3! will also:
- Encourage community members to become licensed foster parents.
- Raise awareness about foster care in Washington state and encourage community members to get involved.
- Provide a fun and family-friendly activity to bring families of all backgrounds together.
If you are unable to sponsor the event, they’re also looking for volunteers to help with setup, teardown and hosting carnival games for the kids. In-kind donations of prizes for kids are also appreciated. Just email firstname.lastname@example.org and they’ll arrange whatever works for you. They look forward to seeing you there. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask Laura Ann Poehner at email@example.com. Skookum Kids was founded in 2014 by Ray Deck III in Bellingham, Washington. This non-profit organization exists to repair the foster care system by eliminating the pain points that cause unnecessary stress for foster parents. It is staffed by eleven full-time, seven part-time employees and over 100 volunteers. For more information, visit their website at www.skookumkids.org.
